On Thursday, June 23, 2022, players from the Ice Wizards joined players from the Colorado Golden Eagles and the Denver Mustangs in an exhibition game, at Dawg Nation Foundation’s Dawg Bowl. Dawg Nation Foundation supports members of the Colorado Hockey Community who need some help, particularly those with medical conditions. They have generously lent a hand to two of the Ice Wizard coaches. The Dawg Bowl is their biggest fundraiser. Highlighting that hockey is for everyone, Dawg Nation hosted sled hockey exhibition games, a blind and deaf game, and for the first time, a Special Hockey exhibition. All players had a great time and exhibited great sportsmanship in a “defensively oriented” 7-7 match. In a special treat, the players were joined by 2 members of a blind team, and 2 neuro-typical players from an adult team. A big thank you to all players and to Coach Mary and Coach Collin of the Ice Wizards, and Coach Mike of the Colorado Golden Eagles. And, of course, a HUGE THANK YOU to Dawg Nation for all of their great work, and for including the Ice Wizards and Special Hockey in the Dawg Bowl. Dawg Nation website.
